The Lord Who Sees You.

twolambswhite I am now 50 years old. I have been walking with Jesus just ten years since we "met" or perhaps, it is better said, since I "recognized" Him, as He had been near to me all of my life but I didn't "see" Him. Yet, He "saw" me, having me always before His eyes. How can I possibly begin to tell you of all His intricate workings, loving touches, sublime revelations, tender mercies, awesome wonders and infinite blessings that He has bestowed on me in just this one decade since knowing Him, let alone all those graces showered upon me during the other years of my life when I was not even aware of His Presence with me?
(Psalm 139)

"And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written."
(John 21:25)

You have heard it said, 'There is no time like the present." Today I will share with you how Jesus dramatically revealed His loving-kindness and powerful Presence on this past Sunday. I live in Israel now, since our Lord led me here in His will.

On Sunday, I went together with a Christian friend to Haifa to participate in a holy Procession which is held once a year to commemorate the saving of the statue of Our Lady of Mount Carmel from destruction by the Turks in the early 1900's. At that time the Christians of Haifa in order to protect their cherished statue from its destruction hurriedly moved it from the Stella Maris Basilica on top of Mount Carmel and hid it inside St. Joseph's Church which is located at the bottom of the mountain. Having parked our car atop the mountain near to the Basilica we walked the long descent down into the city and joined the thousands of Christians who gathered near St. Joseph's Church. Our intent was to follow the Procession that evening up the steep mountain behind the many Arab Christian boy scout marching bands, the crowd of Christians waving flags and banners and the majestic Float on which pretty little girls bedecked in white dresses and flower headdresses surrounded the life-sized statue of our Lady of Mount Carmel holding the Infant Jesus.

By late afternoon when we arrived at the gathering point, we had already had a very long day as we had driven many hours just to attend Sunday mass in the morning at a monastery near Jerusalem. You see I live in an Israeli town in the hinterland where there are no churches. So we found ourselves extremely worn out from driving long distances and making the long walk down the mountain to where the Procession would begin. My friend had got such bad blisters on her feet during the descent down. We were then told that the Procession to bring the treasured Statue of Our Lady and the Infant Jesus back to its permanent home in the Basilica would take several hours as the ascent was so long and the crowd was so large. We love Our Lord and His mother so very much and yet, we realized how exhausted we already were, and those feet! What would become of them by the time we climbed many more hours back to the summit? We assessed our situation and decided that we couldn't do it.

For some time we joined the crowd in spirit and watched the parade of joyous Christians pass us. Then we determined to work our way to the end of the Procession and try to find a taxi to take us to the top of Mt Carmel by way of the other side of the mountain as many of the streets had been closed off to make way for the immense Procession. Due to the large crowd, congestion and closed-off streets, finding a taxi seemed highly unlikely. We faced the difficult thought of long, arduous and painful climb up to our car.

Then I said, let us first go and greet and honor our Mother and our Lord Jesus in front of the Statue. We stopped before the Statue and silently lifted our hearts in love to Our Lord and His blessed Mother. Our Lord Jesus who told us, "your Father knows what you need before you ask Him" ( Matt 6:8) surely "saw us". We stepped away towards the street through the crowd of strangers and at that very moment, a car passed by in which there was someone we recognized, and she recognized us and she immediately stopped the car in the middle of the busy traffic circle. She was heading to the top of Mount Carmel, precisely where we desired to go! In a just a few short moments we were already at our car, the whole time praising and thanking our marvelous Lord who in His loving kindness and awesome power had provided for our need even before the asking.

The Cup Of The Water Of Paradise.

twolambswhite Since you are following my "walk with Jesus",you know I now live in Israel. I left all of my prior life in America and came here in 2008 as the Lord "called" me according to His will.

…"and everyone who has given up houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or lands for the sake of My name will receive a hundred times more, and shall inherit eternal life"
(Matthew 19: 29).

I had no idea then that this Website would result from responding to His call. But this has come forth in order for you to hear the voice of the Son of God who is your Savior and your Good Shepherd who leads you into everlasting life.

"Amen, Amen I say to you, the hour is coming and is now here when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live…Do not be amazed at this, because the hour is coming in which all who are in the tombs will hear His voice and will come out, those who have done good deeds to the resurrection of life but those who have done wicked deeds to the resurrection of condemnation"
( John 5:25, 28).

I asked Our Lord today what should be the next account that I share with you to show you how near He is to you! I was seeking His answer while praying the holy rosary as I crossed an obscure farm field here in Israel. I noticed a little way off what appeared to be a cemetery. I continued forward and discovered that it was a Jewish cemetery. I climbed a little embankment and peered over the wall at the tombs and prayed to our Blessed Mother to intercede with her Son to bring to Himself all those who are buried in this place and who belong to Him, whose souls are still in Purgatory and who long to hear the voice of the Son of God, their Messiah calling them to "come up here"(Revelation 4:1).

"Now this is eternal life, that they should know You, the only true God, and the One whom you sent, Jesus Christ"
( John 17:3).

And I know He heard my prayer for their souls because just at that moment Jesus reminded me of another time where He had delivered the souls in Purgatory and revealed His glory.

During a brief vacation in Israel in the summer of 2007 before moving here, on the Feast of the Assumption of Mary on August 15th, I left the ruins of Caesarea jogging past the Crusader walls inland toward the farm fields. While running I was praying the Glorious Mysteries of the Most Holy Rosary. My heart was lifted up very high to the Lord and I prayed deeply in the Holy Spirit. I remember praying as I ran past the fortress ruins for the Lord to have mercy on those Christians "crusaders" who were not holy and whose motives for battle were impure and whose souls may still be suffering in Purgatory. As I was praying the fourth glorious mysteries of the Rosary- the Assumption of Mary - I noticed on my left what appeared to be a lovely garden and I felt a sudden desire to enter.

As I entered jogging, I became aware that it was not a garden, but rather, a small cemetery. In reverence, I slowed down and began to walk while continuing to pray. I looked more and more attentively at each grave as I walked through the cemetery. A deep feeling welled up in my spirit as I pondered that each tomb contained the remains of an individual person – one unique soul infinitely loved by the Lord. The Holy Spirit then filled me with an intense desire to pray for each one resting there, grave by grave. I could see from the Hebrew on the tombstones that those buried there were Jews. I called to Our Blessed Mother for her to pray to her Son Jesus to bring any of these souls that might be in Purgatory to Heaven.

I suddenly had a strong sense that Jesus had purposely led me into this cemetery on this specific day, the Feast of the Assumption of Mary, at the exact moment while I was praying the glorious mystery of the Assumption because, on this special day, Jesus in His merciful love and in honor of His own Mother's Assumption into Heaven willed to bring many of these Jewish souls to Himself. The sublime thought came to me that Our Lord had purposed from all eternity that one of His "little ones" arrive exactly at this moment to assist Him in this great work of mercy - that our Lord Jesus desired that I, being one of His little disciples offer prayers of intercession for His beloved Jewish children to enter with Him into the Paradise of God.

While this beautiful thought still was flooding my being, I heard a voice call me from the back of the cemetery! I did not understand what the man said to me as he had called out to me in Hebrew. I noticed that he was a gardener by the look of his clothing. I answered by telling him that I did not understand Hebrew. He then said to me in English, “May I offer you a cup of cold water?” Immediately, I recalled Jesus’ words:
“And whoever gives only a cup of cold water to one of these little ones to drink because he is a disciple, Amen, I say to you, he will surely not lose his reward"
( Matthew 10:42).

My heart was suddenly filled with joy and I was as instantly filled with a passionate desire for this man’s salvation. Fervently, I prayed to Our Lord secretly within myself that He keep His promise. I said to Jesus, "Lord, I am one of your little ones, one of your little disciples, and I love You with all my heart and You have promised that if anyone offer even a cup of cold water to one of Your own he will not lose his reward. I know You are "Faithful and True" (Rev 3:14) and You will keep Your promise. This man is offering me a cup of water and I ask that his reward be entry into Paradise, to spend all of eternity with You in Heaven”.

In looking at the gardener I did not see a cup in his hand or any evidence of him having any water. Somewhat bewildered, I looked around and saw a sink next to a garden shed so I went over to it and turned on the tap and began to splash water on my face and use my hands as a cup to lap up the cold running water. Then I heard him call out to me, “No, not that water, this water!” He held up a cup and began to pour water into it and then extended his hand out to offer the cup to me. I approached him to take it from him but he withheld it for a moment and asked, “Do you know what kind of water this is?” I responded that I did not. He then stated, "This is the water of Paradise!” I took the cup and drank it to the bottom with a feeling of utter awe. My inner joy burst out upon the man with my words, “You don’t know how beautiful this is!” (Dear St. Peter, how I understand better the depth of your awe as you witnessed the glory of the Transfiguration of Jesus on Mount Tabor, which caused you exclaim, “Lord, it is good that we are here!”
(Matthew 17:4).

The glory of the Risen Lord was Present with us. The Spirit of the Lord was there with us!

I then asked the man, “What is your name?” And he replied, “My name is Obadiah” and he pounded his chest at his heart as he pronounced each syllable, “O-bad–i-ah”. He asked me, “Do you know what Obadiah means?” I replied that I did not. He said, It means, "Servant of God.” Spontaneously, the words burst out of my mouth, “That is a beautiful name!” He continued and asked me, “And do you know what my other name is?” I waited. And he then pronounced another name in Hebrew and slapping his hand again over his heart he said it in English, “One who has God”.

Then, amazingly, the man asked me, “Are you Catholic?” He pointed to a grave which was right before us at our feet and asked me about the resurrection of the dead and eternal life. I shared with him my faith in the Lord Jesus who said:
"I am the Resurrection and the Life, whoever believes in Me, even if he dies, will live, and everyone who believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?"
(John 11:25)

Then the man asked me, “You believe this?” I answered “yes!" and he replied, “You have great faith.” He then said, “I believe in God”.

I told him I had to leave, but that I would never forget him and would always pray for him. And as I began to depart he cried out after me in loud voice, “May God bless you, may the Lord bless you, go with God and in His peace.”

As I ran out of the cemetery onto the dusty Israeli country road, I felt as though my feet were barely touching the ground and my body was as light as a feather as my heart and spirit soared and I was lifted up in the joy of the Holy Spirit. I knew in my spirit and said in my heart, 'yes, Obadiah you will have your reward! The Lord is faithful to His promises.' For Jesus said, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.”
(Matthew 24:35)

We will drink together the Cup of the Water of Paradise with our Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Eternal Father, who is the Divine Gardener and Caretaker of our souls, who is …"the LORD, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and He is not the God of the dead, but of the living, for to Him all are alive."
(Luke 21: 37).

The Hidden Presence.

twolambswhite Spring is in full bloom here in Israel. It is an absolutely glorious day so I thought to go to walk along the beach, which is only five minutes from my home. I have not been to the beach for months, although the winters here in Israel are mild and temperate. Today, I wanted to spend some undisturbed time with Jesus in a place where I can relax and feel unrushed and simply enjoy the awesome beauty of God's creation around me. The Lord has often met me in a very special way on the beach. As I was walking with him in prayer along the Mediterranean Sea today he brought to my mind a beautiful memory.

"I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, your wonders of old I will remember. I will recite all your works; your exploits I will tell. Your way, O God is holy; what god is as great as our God?"
(Psalm 77:12-14)

Four years ago, my husband and daughters and I went with my husband's Arab Muslim relatives, whom we were visiting that summer, to Dor-Tantura Beach for a family picnic. After spending some time with the family, I very much desired to slip away to be alone with Jesus in prayer in "nature's cathedral" I told my husband that I was going for a walk down the beach. Knowing that I often "disappeared" for long stretches of time on these "walks", he said to me, "Keep an eye on the time!" I began walking and entered into prayer silently. After moving past earshot, I started to worship our Lord Jesus with all my heart and soul out loud, shouting praises of acclamation and singing hymns of adoration and spontaneous love songs to him.

"…but be filled with the Spirit…singing and playing to the Lord in your hearts giving thanks always and for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God the Father."
(Ephesians 5:17)

"Sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth. Sing to the Lord, bless his name; announce his salvation day after day…"
(Psalm 96)

As I was walking and pouring my heart out to the Lord, I noticed a wooden structure that had washed up onto the beach and had got stuck in the sand. It resembled an altar table, and my heart was filled with longing to receive Jesus in Holy Communion. I longed to be able to eat the Bread of angels, to consume the Bread of Life, to be nourished by the Holy Eucharist - the Real Presence of the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ in the Holy Sacrament of the altar where he is truly and substantially Present yet hidden under the forms of bread and wine.

"Amen, amen I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him on the last day. For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him. Just as the living Father sent me and I have life because of the Father, so also the one who feeds on me, will have life because of me. This is the bread that came down from heaven …. Whoever eats this bread will live forever."
(John 6: 53-58)

In America, I could receive Jesus every day in Holy Communion at daily mass. In Israel, it was not possible for me, as my husband's family, with whom we were staying at that time, live in an Arab town in the interior of the country where all the residents are Muslim and there is no church, only mosques. The bigger cities of Haifa, Nazareth and Jerusalem where the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is celebrated were too far away.

Nevertheless, I continued walking with Jesus in joyous spiritual communion. I glanced at my watch and realized that a half an hour had already passed since I departed from my family and I remembered my husband's admonition not to lose track of the time. I began to turn around to head back knowing it would take another half an hour to return.

I also realized that I had, in expressing my love for Jesus, been doing all the "talking" during the first half of our walk. So as I turned, I said to him, "Now I will be quiet and listen to you. Please help me to sense your Presence; just give me a sign of your Presence." With these words, I desired to open myself to a deeper awareness of the Lord's Presence in my heart where I would hear him "speak" to me. I knew by faith he was with me, even though I could not see him with my eyes or hear him with my ears.

Just then, a small bird flew from behind a sand dune where it had been hidden and it circled some feet above my head, chirping sweetly. I watched the bird hovering and listened to its singing with delight. I hadn't noticed any other wildlife during my walk on this stretch of beach. There were no other people either once I left the area where my family was picnicking. I had no bread with me to attract any birds. As I was enjoying this unusual scene, another bird came from behind the dune and joined the first one and they chirped back and forth while hovering overhead. They stayed at a close distance to me and their strange behavior captivated me. Enthralled, I watched and listened attentively.

"Speak, Lord for your servant is listening"
(1st Samuel 3:9)

Then, to my astonishment, a third bird flew from behind the sand dune and joined the other two, and the three hovered directly over my head chirping and singing to each other and I watched in wonder. Then, I felt an awesome sense come over me, as I recalled the words of prayer I had just spoken to our Lord Jesus.

As I released my mind's hesitation and I assented to the mysterious reality of the presence of the three birds hovering over my head who were singing between themselves, my heart was filled with immense joy and love as I experienced in spirit the hidden Presence of the Holy Trinity: the Father, Son and Holy Spirit dwelling in my soul.

I continued to gaze awestruck at the three birds as they lifted up and flew in triangular formation out to Sea. After they had flown a good distance out across the water, I heard a rustle from behind the dunes and then saw a large flock of the same type of birds lift up and fly together out towards to Sea to follow the three birds which went before them.

As I witnessed this amazing spectacle, immediately the verse from Hebrews 12 came to mind:
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses (saints), let us rid ourselves of every burden and sin that clings to us and persevere in running the race that lies before us, while keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, the leader and perfecter of faith" Hebrews 12: 1-2.

I walked back to my family down the beach in speechless adoration of the Triune God who had just powerfully, wonderfully and intimately revealed his Presence with me. Only an hour had passed since I began my "walk". As I drew near to the picnic spot where my family was gathered, my husband approached me and gave me a odd look, seeing by my face, perhaps, that something unusual had taken place, and making the sign of the cross in the air before me, he said, "The Lord bless you." Although the gesture was done in derision, little did he understand that the Lord had indeed blessed me, and blesses us beyond any imagination.

"As it is written,
'What eye has not seen, and ear had not heard,
and what has not entered the human heart,
God has prepared for those who love him'
This God has revealed to us through the Spirit."
( 1st Corinthians 2: 9-10)

The Lord is Your Guardian.

twolambswhite Last night I went out for a walk. I walked down a truck and tractor route towards a potato farm which is located at the edge of our town. As I was walking I passed a couple who were pushing a baby stroller with their toddler in tow on the descent from the neighborhood on this same farm road. As they were preoccupied with their children I passed by them silently and continued on my way. I had gone out on this walk in order to be alone with the Lord in a quiet place away from the hubbub going on in my home that evening. I could not know then what I would later experience. I walked and breathed in deeply the evening air. I looked all around me at the beautiful countryside, noticing the rusty colored earth of the farm fields and the lovely light of the twilight sky. I observed all the wondrous nature around me and by faith I knew the Lord was near and with me and in me. I felt myself relaxing and "letting go" of all the days cares and fully trusting that He was truly with me, dwelling within me…

"Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you? If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him; for God's temple is sacred, and you are that temple."
(1st Corinthians 3:16-17)

I just wanted to walk with Jesus and not talk to Him about anything, just be with Him quietly in trusting love. So, I said to Him, Lord, "I will give you the gift of silence." I often think and talk too much! Thus, I wanted to give Him something beautiful and precious… Silence…

"But the Lord is in His holy temple, silence before Him all the earth."
(Habakkuk 2:20).

I walked on in silence with Him and descended down a dirt road past the farm processing plant and an enclosed pasture with some horses and their foals. I suddenly felt a strange fear come over me. I suddenly sensed a feeling of danger. My mind began to think thoughts such as, "perhaps it is not safe to be walking here." Or, "there could be a bad person who might hurt me." And many other disquieting thoughts came to my mind. Just then a local town security vehicle drove up from the road below and passed by me. I felt reassured of my safety. I stepped to the side of the dirt road as the car went past driven by a young security officer who didn't even glace at me as he was speaking on his cell phone. He disappeared out of sight.

"Put no trust in princes, in mere mortals powerless to save…. Happy those whose help is Jacob's God, whose hope is in the Lord their God…"
(Psalm 146:3,5)

I decided it was time to turn around to head back home. I retraced my steps back up the same path this time stopping to smell the beautiful vibrant pink flowers that were growing in great bunches on the wire fence of the farm. While the flowers had no sweet smell, I enjoyed the singing of the many little birds that were fluttering inside the thick growth of leaves and blossoms. In joy and confidence I said, "Lord you are here with me." I walked some paces further and suddenly, I saw a dog came running towards me from a distance barking aggressively. I felt uneasy. Then another dog came and another and anther and another until I was surrounded by a large number of dogs, perhaps a total of ten, all of which were barking loudly and aggressively and encircling me and their tails were not wagging and I did not know how they would behave. I felt strong fear rising within me, and many thoughts began to fly through my mind… that I could be attacked and bitten all over and ….Oh My God!

Deep in my heart, I called out to the Lord who I knew was with me and said softly out loud, "Jesus, please help me!" With a mysterious courage that came up from within me I found myself making the Sign of the Cross with my right hand in the air close to the faces of the dogs. I turned in all directions motioning to each dog, making the Sign of the Cross while pronouncing the invocation: "In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit." I was aware that I was afraid and yet, I was not afraid. I was afraid in some part of my being, – the human senses - but at the very same time, the supernatural power of the Presence of the indwelling Lord which I was experiencing by faith gave me confidence that He would deliver me from this present danger.

"God is our refuge and strength, an ever present help in distress. Thus, we do not fear… Streams of river gladden the city of God, the holy dwelling of the Most High. God is in its midst: it shall not be shaken"…
(Psalm 46:2,5-6)

One by one the dogs began to retreat and I ceased making the Sign of the Cross and calling on the Name of the Lord. I slowly walked backwards down the road with my heart still racing and feeling a tremendous sense of relief. After a brief distance I called out to the dogs, "I love you!" I repeated this several times to them. Then turning my eyes heavenward I thanked the Lord for His delivering me from such a terror.

I raise my eyes toward the mountains. From where will my help come?
My help comes from the LORD, the maker of heaven and earth.
God will not allow your foot to slip; your Guardian does not sleep.
Truly, the Guardian of Israel never slumbers nor sleeps.
The LORD is your Guardian; the LORD is your shade at your right hand.
By day the sun cannot harm you, nor the moon by night.
The LORD will guard you from all evil, will always guard your life.
The LORD will guard your coming and going both now and forever.
(Psalm 121)

Much farther up the road near to the neighborhood, I passed the same family who were headed back into the town and said to them, "there are some wild dogs down there!" They told me that that they had seen them from a distance and therefore had turned around to go back. They said to me, "It's amazing you got out!"
